It’s a tough job being a truck on a horse ranch.
The days are long, the sun is strong, and there is always work to be done. Your work defines you and just by looking you can tell Old Betsy here has done her share of hard work over the years. Yet there is still more to be done…
Notes from the field:
Coming across this old Harley Davidson motorcycle at a location that mainly features old cars and trucks certainly was a great find.
I mean, how often do you find a Harley with NOS on the front?!?

Sometimes it just takes a while for inspiration to strike. This photo in particular took a couple years before everything was just right.

I have driven past this old car over a dozen times in the last few years with never stopping for a photo. There were many reasons for not stopping and it all had to do with the light. Most times I drove by the sunlight was either too harsh or hidden behind a blanket of clouds.
This time however the light was just right with attractive clouds in the sky and I pulled my RV over to photograph.
This was photographed in 2011 with my Canon 5D Mark II and Canon 17-40mm. It is a 3 photo HDR image that was processed with the following software: Lightroom, Photoshop, HDR Efex Pro, Silver Efex Pro, and Color Efex Pro from Nik Software.
I found this old Coke refrigerator next to an old wood wagon and some prickly pear cactus in Northern New Mexico near Santa Fe and Taos. In fact I photographed this with my students during a photo workshop Christine and I were teaching in Santa Fe/Taos in 2011.
While this was photographed in 2011, I didn’t process and enhance the photo until spring of 2012.
This crate of old soda bottles was photographed in Northern New Mexico in a old fountain drink type of trailer. These old glass soda bottles feature Dr Pepper, Sunkist, and Coca Cola with a rusty old Pepsi sign in the background.
