My upcoming ON1 Photo 10 Training Video is getting closer to release

I know a number of people have been waiting for my own ON1 Photo 10 training video and here is a sneak peak at the status. After much preparation I started recording today and have 25 of the at least 80 videos now recorded (viewable by the red tag). Only 1 has been edited so far though (viewable by the green tag). The screenshot only shows a small percentage of the topics covered.

My ON1 training video will be very similar to my 6-hr, 55+ video for Perfect Photo Suite as it is a step-by-step training guide that is modeled off of my 2-day in-person classroom crash courses that I have been teaching for a couple years now.

It includes over 20 class photos you can work on step-by-step with the recordings, as well as free presets, textures, and a couple cloud backgrounds and it goes into more detail than the excellent videos ON1 supplied. Between ON1’s videos and mine you can become an expert at ON1 Photo 10.

I hope to have the recordings done in the next day or two and editing done by the weekend. Pre-orders for the course will open up soon. If interested and you haven’t already done so, contact me so I can add you to my pre-announcement list which will have a great special offer for the course!

Watch my interview next week in the ON1 Pro Series

Yesterday I was interviewed by ON1’s Matt Kloskowski for their upcoming ON1 Pro Series which will feature short talks and video demos from myself and other really cool photographers.

In the interview Matt and I talked about things such as what I see happening in the next 5 years with photo processing, my feelings regarding how much or how little one can do to an image in post processing, what tool for post processing I would like to see that hasn’t been developed yet, and more!

In addition to the interview there will also be available a short video showing how I work with a RAW photo in Capture One Pro and really make the photo come to life in ON1 Photo 10.

In the first week of the series I join fellow pro photographers such as Hudson Henry, Blake Rudis, Scott Wyden, Scott Davenport, Frank Salas, and Liz LePage. Be sure to sign up and start watching the videos next week.

ON1 Photo 10 Review – Part 2 of 2

In Part 1 of my ON1 Photo 10 Review I talked about the new look, the Browse Module, and the Enhance Module. Part 2 here finishes with the rest of the improvements to ON1 Photo 10 as well as my conclusion summary.

– the Portrait Module

The Portrait module got a refresh with a new way of working with facial features that makes it easier for retouching.

In previous versions of Perfect Photo Suite, when you brought a photo of a person into Portrait and clicked on the green box after the software automatically found a face, the software would also automatically find the eyes and the mouth.

In ON1 Photo 10 when starting to work on facial features you now have to select the eyes and mouth manually. It is a quick and easy process. First click on the left eye, then the right. Then click on the left corner of the mouth, then the right. For portraits photographed from the side where only one eye and part of the mouth is visible, you have the option of skipping those particular point selections.

Gone are the auto selection of eyes and mouth. Now you go step by step selecting first the left eye, then right. Then the left corner of the mouth, then the right.

For some photographers it can completely replace Photoshop and/or Lightroom. For others it works side by side with those programs as a standalone program or as a plugin. ON1 Photo also still works with Apple’s discontinued Aperture program as well as with Photoshop Elements. It works with OS X starting with 10.8 and newer (including El Capitan) and Windows starting with Windows 7 and newer.
